It's been a long time comin' but we finally managed to get the 2012 SCHOR HO Racing season underway. There was a great turn-out of SCHOR racers, and our famous So Cal winter weather cooperated too.  This was the very first time that we have raced magnet cars on Mike's new twisty but fast "HO International" layout.  It proved to be a bit of a set-up challenge (lots of 7/25 gears and full brakes!) but in the end the racing was quick and fun.

The always first race of the day Amateur (Rookie) Hardbody was dominated by a brand new SCHOR racer who's first name is Sean, but no one seemed to know much else about him, so until we see him again, he'll be know as "Sean the Mysterious".  Anyway Sean's obviously put in a few laps of racing somewhere because he dominated this hardbody race while Darrin and Ron battled each other for second and third.

Pro Hardbody was the next race of the day and there were 9 entrants.  It was run as a Round Robin, and after the dust settled and all the laps were counted.  Mr. John and still "The Jet" Cukras stood on the top step of the podium.  John smoke entire field with his fast and meticulously prepared Cukras-Mega G (-Jet??).  Dan Cronin was second with a well prepared Hardbody car, followed by "Big O" Oscar running another Cukras-Mega G, who edged out Ben by just 1 lap.

In Super Stock, Dan Cronin was the top quailfier for the Main but had to leave early.  That left the Super Stock the race to old SCHOR veterans.  Ben "The Viper" jumped out to a 3 lap lead after the first heat and built that into a commanding 9 lap win over Morgan and Eddie who ran neck and neck through the race until "Too Fast" edged out "The Snake" by 1 lap on the very last lap to claim the 2nd podium step.

The final and fastest race of the day was Pro-Modified running under SCHOR's new 2012 format.  Mike Low proved that a little home field advantage can't hurt if you know what to do with it.  He took his sweet and fast BSRT G3R "Bonded Polymer" car for a flag to flag win over Morgan - also running a "Bonded Polymer", who barely edge out Morris using his traditional Modified.
All and all a great start to what we hope will be a memorable and fun season of HO slot racing in So Cal.
